Approximately 30 attended a gathering of friends and former colleagues to catch up, discuss old times, and witness the lodging of Bank memorabilia. A rear corner of Banking Hall (now the University of Birmingham's cafe in 'The Exchange') was utilised for the occasion.

'The Exchange' was open to the public and was busy with visitors to a number of exhibitions including 'A Place to Call Home' (in the Safe Deposit); Birmingham Festival 23 (that included the Commonwealth Games torch (left) and examples of gold, silver, and bronze medals); and a demonstration in the Assembly Room that featured a tent (above).

The large window with a key logo was rescued from a factory clearance in Selly Oak. Its original location is unknown, but it matches branch windows of a similar description at Duddeston (52 Revesby Walk) and Kitts Green (131 Lea Village). The photograph shows the window being handed over by David Parkes to Fiona Innes, Deputy Venue Manager at The Exchange.

Several items of Bank memorabilia have now been locked in a ‘D’ class safe in the former Safe Deposit to create a Time Capsule. These items include copies of all the ‘Memories’ submitted to the BMB History website, and various memorabilia stored in a box that originally fitted in a class ‘A’ safe deposit. These photos show David Parkes and Gill Price, who both worked in Safe Deposit during their careers with the Bank, assisting Fiona Innes in creating the Time Capsule.
